TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. They maintain a must visit website featuring inspired talks from leading thought leaders.   Local TED groups (designated by TEDx) organize and hold their own events following the spirit of TED’s mission.   This past weekend, I had the good fortune to attend TEDxBerkeley’s conference– Engaging the World,  at the UC Berkeley campus.

Again, a fascinating and thought provoking TED talk; this time by Eric Topol, M.D,  a noted cardiologist and currently the Director of the Scripps Translational Science Institute in La Jolla, California, which is funded by a grant by the NIH to accelerate to research to change medicine.  Worth anyone’s 15 minutes to watch this. Recently, Devdutt Pattanaik, the Chief Belief Officer at the Future Group based in Mumbai, India, gave a TED presentation in Mysore, India.   This 19 minute lecture and presentation depicts some of the inherent differences between the views and values of Indians vs those of the west and how that manifests itself in business.   I would highly recommend investing the 19 minutes to watch this lecture if you are doing or have plans to do business in India or are just interested in learning more about what drives Indian beliefs.
