Recently, Devdutt Pattanaik, the Chief Belief Officer at the Future Group based in Mumbai, India, gave a TED presentation in Mysore, India. This 19 minute lecture and presentation depicts some of the inherent differences between the views and values of Indians vs those of the west and how that manifests itself in business. I would highly recommend investing the 19 minutes to watch this lecture if you are doing or have plans to do business in India or are just interested in learning more about what drives Indian beliefs.

Yes, he is certainly gifted and creative. His interpretation of the Ganesha and Karthikeya racing around the world story as “The world” vs. “My world” was new to me. Of course, both Ganesha and Karthikeya are part of the same Indian myth so it is not really a case of one vs the other but both at the same time.
I had never heard of him before and this talk on TED was my first exposure to him. I intend to buy all his books now.
Sanjay– thanks for the comment…yes The World vs My World was new way to look for me as well. This is the first lecture I’ve seen of him, want to read more. First, I’ve heard of the Future Group as well– are you familiar with them?
